🍂 Fall Gutter Cleaning FAQ

How many leaves should fall before I schedule my gutter cleaning?

It’s best to schedule early in the fall so you’re on the list before the busy season and colder weather set in. As a rule of thumb, once about 60% of the leaves have fallen, it’s the ideal time for the cleaning itself — but by scheduling ahead, you’ll already be in rotation when that window hits.

How many times should I clean my gutters in the fall, and why?

We recommend two cleanings per fall season — one around late October and another around late November. The first cleaning clears the early 60% of leaves that come down, while the second catches the remaining debris before winter. Even if freezing temperatures arrive early, having at least one solid cleaning helps remove any buildup from earlier seasons, keeping your system flowing freely through winter.

Should I schedule ahead of time? Why?

Yes. Fall is our busiest season, and weather changes quickly. Scheduling early helps you secure a time slot before temperatures drop or appointments fill up.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

No — you don’t need to be home for your gutter cleaning. We’ll notify you by email and text 1–3 business days before your scheduled service during the fall season. After the job is complete, we’ll send another notification confirming that the work was done and whether we found anything that needs attention — or if your gutters are ready for the season ahead. Our team will also leave a flyer on your door as a physical confirmation of service.

What if my trees are still full when I’m scheduled?

You’re welcome to reschedule your cleaning if your trees are still full when you receive your on-route notification—just let us know right away. That said, if roughly 60% of the leaves have fallen, you’re usually in good shape to proceed. We typically recommend keeping your scheduled cleaning to stay ahead of freezing temperatures, and if more leaves fall afterward, you can always add a second cleaning later in the season depending on the weather.

When is the latest I should get scheduled?

That depends on your trees and the first freeze. The later you wait, the higher the chance we’ll run into freezing temperatures or full schedules.

Can gutter cleaning be done in the winter?

Yes — we can perform cleanings in the winter, but it depends on weather conditions. If temperatures stay below freezing or there’s heavy snowfall, we may need to pause cleanings temporarily until it warms up for a few days and the ice or snow melts. Once conditions are safe and temperatures rise above freezing for 3–5 days, we’ll resume creating routes and continue where we left off. If it stays frozen through the season, we’ll pick back up in early spring. Either way, we’ll keep you updated when cleanings resume.

Can I reserve a specific date for my cleaning?

We don’t schedule cleanings for exact dates because weather conditions can change quickly during the fall and winter seasons. Instead, we schedule services based on rotating routes and provide each customer with a two-week window for when their cleaning will take place.

You’ll receive an email and text notification letting you know your assigned two-week window. If that timing doesn’t work for you, you’re welcome to move to a later two-week window—for example, from the second and third week of November to the third and fourth week, depending on availability.

We recommend choosing an earlier window whenever possible, since later in the season weather becomes less predictable and schedules fill up quickly. This approach helps us serve everyone efficiently and safely while keeping your gutters ready before winter sets in.
